I found myself in a bit of a sticky situation at the last minute before my move and Conquistador Moving Services accommodated me every step of the way. The rates were the best around and the moving guys (and 1 gal) and the owner were all friendly and careful with my furniture (happy to report nothing was damaged). They didn't milk the time, instead they were efficient and worked hard and quick to save me money. They let you use your own truck, which also saved me some money, but they also have their own trucks if you need them - so you can either request truck and labor, or just labor. I would definitely use Conquistador Moving Services for my moving needs again and recommend them to anyone who needs help with a move and doesn't want to be overcharged.
Conquistador Moving recently moved me across town. The movers were efficient and careful with my furniture. They were able to skillfully handle large, awkward pieces. Great people, great work, great prices.
The movers themselves were fine.
The owner was terrible or worse. The owner nearly doubled the price per hour of the move without disclosing or discussing this at all ahead of time, telling me he "did me a favor by charging me less the first portion of the move." He was belligerent, name calling, raging. If you like that sort of thing, this is the moving company for you. When I complained about a sudden near doubling of the per hour rate with no disclosure whatsoever, he repeatedly called me a cheapskate and stated he "didn't need business from a cheapskate."
This was the worst loading experience I've ever had. I hired Michael Lucero of Conquistador Moving Services to load our U-Haul truck. He sent three people to do the job. They damaged four pieces of our furniture. While moving our one-year old sofa out of the apartment and into the elevator, they ripped the side and the back of the sofa. They also scratched and scraped the end table, the console, and the coffee table. He also overcharged me for his service. We paid him cash and was not given a receipt. I have attempted to contact Michael Lucero numerous times for the past ten days and he has not responded to me. You can see my complaint on the Better Business Bureau of New Mexico's website, which he also has not responded to. Avoid this mover at all costs!
Soooo disappointed! They broke an expensive framed picture, and the owner promised to replace the glass and hand deliver it to my house. That was over a month ago. After contacting a multitude if times, he has now told me that he is too busy to return it to me. What a bad way to do business.
